Description

Delicious croissants filled with chocolate batons, perfect for breakfast or dessert.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 cups All-Purpose Flour
  • 1/4 cup Granulated Sugar
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 2 1/4 tsp Instant Yeast
  • 1 1/4 cups Cold Whole Milk
  • 1 cup Unsalted Butter
  • 16 Chocolate Batons
  • 1 tbsp Milk
  • Confectioners’ Sugar

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, salt, and yeast. Gradually add cold milk and mix until combined.
  2. Knead on a floured surface until smooth. Cover and chill while dough rises.
  3. After rising, roll out the dough into a large rectangle and encase the chilled butter by folding the dough over it.
  4. Roll out again and perform three folds, chilling if necessary between each fold.
  5. Cut triangles from the final rolled-out dough, place a chocolate baton at the base of each triangle, and roll tightly.
  6. Arrange on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, brush with milk, and let rise for another 30 minutes.
  7. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C) and bake for about 20 minutes or until golden brown.

Notes

  • Make sure the butter is chilled for better lamination.
  • Allow the croissants to cool slightly before dusting with confectioners’ sugar.
