Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tbsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup butter, cold and cubed
- 3/4 cup milk, adjust as needed
- 3/4 cup deli ham, diced
- 3/4 cup cheddar cheese, shredded (or your favorite cheese)
- 1 tsp garlic powder or herbs, optional for extra flavor
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, salt, and optional garlic powder or herbs.
- Add cold cubed butter to the flour mixture. Use a pastry cutter or your fingers to work the butter into the flour until it resembles coarse crumbs.
- Stir in diced ham and shredded cheese evenly.
- Gradually add milk, stirring until a soft dough forms. Be careful not to overmix.
- Drop spoonfuls of dough onto the prepared baking sheet (or lightly flour your hands and form rounds). Space about 1 inch apart.
- Bake for 15–20 minutes, until golden brown on top.
- Remove from oven and let cool slightly. Serve warm with butter or enjoy on their own.
Notes
- Store leftovers in an airtight container.
- These biscuits are best served fresh but can be reheated in the oven.
